i just bought a dwarf hamster this afternoon and i put him in his cage and my room is in the basement which is a bit cooler than the rest of the house, and i read about hibernation, and he immediately buried himself under the bedding and fell asleep. are there any other options besides moving his to a warmer park of the house ?

:? :sigh

you should put her under a large light since shes not up on the first floor and theres no windows you should put a blanket over her cage durring night also if your hamsters ever hot in the summer time u shoud put a fan close to her cage also buy some pillow fluff for hamsters at the pet store i got my pillow fluff at petco it should keep her warm

you could put him upstairs but not near vents, where there could be drafts, or in direct sunlight.
