I would really say that you should walk your hammie inside because outside there could be poison for it that it could be allergic to and plus if you walk it on sidewalk then it would hurt its pads. Now inside make sure it's in a wide open space where they are easy to catch and I would also suggest on getting a playpin for it that's made for hamsters :D
