One thing you can do is buy hamster chew toys. like I have this eattable toy cheese that he uses to trim his teeth.

I've had a couple that just won't stop. Dog biscits seems to solve the problem for most, but I have two that will chew bars anytime they get the chance. I finally made them plastic bin cages, no bars, no chewing. It's really bad for them to chew the bars, if you can't get them to stop a bin may be your only choice. Up side is, they are cheap, easy to clean, and your hammy gets LOTS of room!

the bar-biting is a result of needing to trim their teeth. however, is is believed that it can cause the brain to become misaligned, so, i would suggest getting them some chew toys.
