I Think My Hamster Is Pregnant. How Can I Be Sure? It’s very hard to tell just by looking at her as, even though she does gain weight, it isn’t always that noticeable. However, her behavior around the cage will change markedly. You’ll notice her hoarding much more food than before, and activity such as digging will increase dramatically around her nest. You may also notice that she’s a bit more skittish than usual – this is normal, and the best thing to do is to leave her be.
